It sounds like you’re describing post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. There are some things you can start doing immediately: 1) Be sure that you are using a very good facial sunblock every single day, otherwise those marks are going to get darker and darker. 2) You need to start using a pigmentation inhibiting product for 2 reasons; 1- to ensure the skin starts slowing down it’s production of pigment in those areas and 2-to slowly start helping you lighten the existing marks. If your pigmentation is really severe, then its going to take quite a bit of time for you to see major improvements with just the topical products, so you may want to consider kick-starting the process with some treatments.
