Question: Fillers And Matrixyl

I have very deep lines around my mouth (used to be a smoker), what can I do to make it look better? I have heard about fillers but don’t know the advantages / disadvantages and how long it will last. I also heard Matrixyl is good for anti-ageing. What is you opinion and what products can I use?

Answer

Thank you for your question. With lines and wrinkles like this, you have hit the nail on the head! No doubt, fillers are definitely the way to go. You do have other options like laser and carboxy therapy treatments, but if you want a fairly immediate, fairly pain free treatment that is long lasting and give beautiful results, then, fillers are definitely your way to go. When it comes to products, it really depends… You must find what works for YOU. When it comes to lines and wrinkles, I’m going to be honest and say that you are in for a long, hard struggle if you’re trying to treat these with over the counter products as these are by no means active enough to give you any real long lasting result. You need to look for things like Skin Medica’s Essential Serum, Neostrata’s Bionic Serum, Or Neostrata’s Skin Actives Range serums. Matrixyl, I’ve heard good things. I’ve never tried it myself so I cannot fairly comment, but if you would only know if you try. I will always give you names of things I have tried myself and worked with and seen results with in my own experience.
