For The Last Year And A Half I Am Experiencing Bad Acne (black

Question

For the last year and a half I have been experiencing bad acne (black and white heads), and my skin is dry and rough. I did go for a blood test for my hormones, but this is not the problem. I also have dark circles around my eyes and just look terrible. I am not sure what to do. I take in at least 2l of water daily. I am not sure about products as I have made use of Isabella Garcia which after six months just made my skin worse, so would not like to spend money on something that will not help.

Answer

Hello and thank you for your query. Before starting any new skin care regimes, with the concerns that you have listed, it is best to consult one of our doctor’s. Depending on the severity of your acne, products may need to be combined with in- clinic treatments for best results. Therapy such as the Clarity range by Lamelle is directed at multiple factors and modified for individual patients. Most skincare ranges try to manage acne with varying success. Clarity by Lamelle addresses this problem with the “inside- out” principle that incorporates a topical treatment range together with an oral supplement. The Clarity range incorporates specialized and encapsulated ingredients to synergistically address the four primary factors associated with acne as well as the secondary concerns that include dark marks, scarring , skin dryness and sensitivity.

From Masoodah Ebrahim

Question

I’ve been suffering from acne my entire teen and tween years, at some point in my teens it got to a state whereby it was classified as severe acne and put on a very strong dosage of Roacuttane… thankfully it’s cleared with normal breakouts when it’s that time of the month. My main issue is I can never find a product that agrees with my skin or that actually clears up the oiliness and dry patches. Is there a skin care regiment that I can follow or a product that can help? PS: I’m exceptionally hairy as well and low threshold for pain.

I have oily skin and get breakouts, but my main concern is my pores. They are fairly noticeable and I’m really not happy with them. Will regular facials help and what kind should I do?

Question from Lizelle Lloyd

Question

Hi Dr Maureen,

I am a 31 yr old mother with very limited time for skincare routine. I have recently been diagnosed with scalp atopic dermattis and have been put on a course of antibiotics for a full month. Ive only had severe cases after all three of my pregnancies with my last one been 8 months ago. How can I prevent this from returning and what products would you recommend for my scalp-keep in mind I have very curly ethic hair making it very difficult to use some products as I need extra moisture and conditioner for my hair. I have also recently noticed a mild case of eczema on my breast-making breastfeeding quite challenging.

Please help :)
