Question: How can I get rid of sun spots?

Hi DR Maureen. I have two sun spots on my upper lip that I am trying to get rid of. I have tried Gatineu white plain and also been to have laser, but I still have the marks. What else could I do? Do you know of any at home chemical peels I could try? Thank you for your time Kerry

Answer

Hi Kerry. Thanks so much for your question. In most cases, pigmentation on the upper lip is hormonal in nature. Because of this, the pigment tends to sit in the dermis, and you cannot reach the dermis adequately to remove pigmentation with topical cosmetics or home peels. You are going to need to consider using prescription products and possibly even consider some treatment. Why don’t you have a look at some of your options by contacting your nearest Skin Renewal branch on www.skinrenewal.co.za.
