Question: My Hair Is Orange!

Long story short, I used to dye my hair black, which then turned into a medium brown. My natural hair is a mousy/dark blonde and I am tired of having to dye my hair so often because of my light roots. I have recently tried to start making my hair lighter using a medium ash blonde but because my hair has a red undertone my roots are brassy and orange and the colour gets darker towards my ends. I dont have money to see a hairdresser for help. Is there anything I can do at home to start getting my hair to look one colour without the red undertones? Is 2 weeks too soon to dye it again?

Answer

Hello

Unfortunately there isn’t anything that you can do at home to fix that. You are going to have to bite down and go and see a hairstylist to repair that damage.
I know that it’s going to seem easier to buy something at a supermarket and then try and fix it but frankly the only thing your going to fix is your hair down the drain. If you are in the Cape Town region, come see me at the salon and we can try and redo your colour at as little of the cost as possible. You can call me on 0214347112.
