Question: Pimples

Even as a teenager I never had pimples. Now I am getting a "mosquito bite hump" that is painful and red. Right now I have one that sits on the lip line and seems it wants to grow another bump on the lip. Why is this happening and what shall I do to prevent this?

Answer

I wish I could help you, but it is very difficult for me to offer you any assistance without actually having seen you myself. That “bump” could be anything from a type of cold sore, to an acne cyst to an infected ingrown hair… Are you near enough to one of our Skin Renewal Branches so that we can see the lesion in order to properly help you? Or can you send me a picture so that I can get a better idea of what I’m dealing with? Please, in the mean time, make sure you are using a good facial sunblock… redness often suggests inflammation and if you expose inflamed areas to daylight over a period of time, you could start developing pigmentation, and then you will have another issue to deal with.
