Question: Pregnancy Acne

I recently found out I am pregnant about 9 weeks and experiencing terrible acne breakouts, is there anything I can do to minimize it that is safe to do during pregnancy.

Answer

Congratulations! I hope you are having an exciting and happy pregancy! On the otherhand… your skin is unfortunately going to undergo multiple changes with all the hormonal fluctuations you are going to have throughout the course of your pregnancy. Unfortunately all the prescriptions meds and products are OUT for you. My suggestions to you, is stay healthy (diet wise), take lotsof anti-oxidants and vitamins, and make sure you are using a very good facial sunblock (minimum SPF 30) every single day throughout your pregancy. Once your baby is born, we can look at treating your skin with more active treatments and products and get it looking young and fresh and healthy again.
