Question from Christel Ck

Question

Hi Dr Maureen,i have eczema on my eyelids and i wanted to find out if the all in one body shop eye primer will be safe for use. Thanks

Answer

I am not that familiar with the Body shop products, as I am not too sure of what they have in their formulations, but would recommend that you treat the eczema first before applying any sort of cosmetic to the area.  Cosmetics at this stage will most likely cause the area to sting and cause the eczema to flare up even more.  My advice would be to let me or one of our doctors have a look at the area and prescribe a suitable medical treatment or appropriate topical product to help get the problem under control first.

Question from ypotgieter

Question

Goodday Dr, I am battling to get skincare products for my skin. I get severe contact dermatitis to almost anything I use. At the moment the only product I can use is Micellar Water but only a few weeks then I also can’t use it. I have tried aqueous cream, Avene, Eucerin. Any suggestions?

Question from JOALINE

Question

I have been using various skin ranges over the years, most resent being the Rooibos range, but nothing seems to get to the area I’m targeting. I have combination skin(Oily T-zone; Dry cheeks) with hyper pigmentation on jaw line + some acne scars. I’m trying to get started on a new product range, but there are so many products, how do I know which it the best choice for my skin needs?
