Question from Khalieda Osman

Question

HI, I have really bad skin. I used sensitive skin body wash as well as stopping it completely. Yet my skin itches so bad and it is like scales coming off. What could the problem be?

Answer

Hi there Khalieda. By saying “I have really bad skin”, I assume you are talking about your face? What you are describing sounds like you have a severely damaged barrier. If your skin’s barrier is compromised, your skin will be sensitive, it can be pink or red, it will dry out easily, it will peel and flake and anything you put on the skin will cause sensitivity, stinging or itching. Firstly, you need to make sure you’re not using soapy or foamy washes on your skin. Secondly, you need to spend at least two to three months using a range that will repair your skin’s barrier. I know of two ranges that are excellent for this. The Serra Range by Lamelle, or the Gentle Rejuvenation Range by Obagi.
