Question: Question from Meagan Stevens

I'm 22 years old and trying to figure out a good skincare regime. I have normal to dry skin and a beauty consultant suggested that I use a serum and a toner. I've never heard of serums and wanted to know if I should be using these daily?

Answer

Thank you very much for your enquiry. It’s important to note that you need to know WHAT a serum does before you decide whether or not it’s the right product for you. Serums generally have specific functions. For example, you would use S growth factor or stem cell serum for anti-ageing, you would use a anti-oxidant serum to defend the skin against sun damage, you might use a HA serum is you have very dry or dehydrated skin. So It’s not just a case of using any serum.  In your case, it does not sound like you have any particular concerns other than some hydration needs. So in your case, you could easily use your cleanser, hydrating serum, a moisturiser and SPF on a daily basis.
