WWD reports that the Material Girl is in talks with perfume company Coty to launch her very first fragrance. It’s about time, Madge! Where you been when it comes to celeb scents?
WWD says that the superstar is in ‘serious’ discussions about partnering with Coty, which also teamed up with Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and J. Lo for their auras. What’s more, there are rumors that the scent will be called ‘Truth or Dare’, which is one of her signature phrases.
While Madonna has never before released a perfume, she has dipped her well-manicured hands into the beauty and cosmetics industry. She launched a beauty arm of her Material Girl brand this summer, which offers teen-friendly fare like nail polish, lip gloss, body splashes and lotions. Material Girl is co-designed by Madge’s teen daughter Lourdes, is sold at Macy’s and is marketed for teen girls who could be Lourdes’ schoolmates and peers.
Given that this is Madonna’s first official foray into scent-making, this perfume would likely cater to a more mature audience. Can you even begin to guess what top notes Madonna will want to incorporate into her own perfume?
