Guerlinistas your favourite brand has announced their new face of perfume and it’s none other than Angelina Jolie. “We create perfumes for the women we admire, ” said Jacques Guerlain, creator of mythical fragrances such as Shalimar, L’Heure Bleu, and Mitsouko. The French beauty brand has been around since 1828 when Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain opened his perfume store at 42, rue de Rivoli in Paris.
Jolie hasn’t been attached to any major beauty campaigns since being the face of Shiseido back in 2007. The partnership between Angelina and Guerlain was agreed to in Cambodia way back in December 2015. Apparently, the fact that she could remember her mother using a powder from the brand, was a major deciding factor in her decision.
She isn’t simply fronting a new scent, Jolie has acted as a muse and source of inspiration for the luxury French fragrance house’s master perfumer Thierry Wasser. He wanted to create a fragrance expressing the idea of the “notes of a woman”: the choices, emotions, and dreams that embody modern femininity.
The trés Jolieist part of it all though is that she donated her entire salary from the Guerlain campaign to charity. It wasn’t disclosed which charity, but she is a Special Envoy to the UN Refugee Agency and co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative.
The new scent, called Mon Guerlain will make its debut in South Africa in March.
