During the colder months of the year we don’t steer far away from our warm woody and Oriental fragrances. After all, there’s nothing like a mixture of musks, spices and woods to add a bit of warmth when it’s most needed. But just as we pack our winter woollies away when the weather starts to turn, it’s important to re-think one’s fragrance choices. You may find that a spicy fragrance combined with 32 degrees heat is overpowering rather than sensual and that it doesn’t have the inviting effect you’ve become accustomed to during winter.
So what should you be wearing this spring? Fresh florals, citrus and aquatic scents work best in warmer weather. They are cooling when sprayed against warm skin and have an uplifting effect on the senses. Look out for notes of lemon, jasmine, rose, mint, lime and lily. Many of the fresher fragrances are available in eau de toilette versions, so remember that you may need to spray them more often than you would your heavier eau de parfums you wear in winter.
We’ve compiled a list of new scents we think are perfect for the new spring season. Which of these will you be trying, Beauties?
