We thought we would examine the available styles and conduct some (highly unclinical) trials to find out just how hairy a man should be.
There is no doubt that mustaches were worn by many great men in history: Frank Zappa, Ghandi … yes, it takes a special kind of man to pull this look off. These days there’s only one mustache that should be alive, and that’s the one that is straight, covering only the upper lip, or paired with the goatee. Brad Pitt was recently spotted with a mustache, and no other facial hair whatsoever. If anyone can do it, Brad can. Oh, and Magnum P.I. (pushing 70 and still decidely yum.)
Our panel said:
• Mustache – A BIG NO NO
• From me Nothing is more manly than a stache, it is the king of face fuz
• Moustaches are a bit creepy. Scruffy beards are cute on certain guys (see Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Gosling for reference)
• Tom Selleck ROCKS!
Conflicting advice, then.
