How ice can transform your hair

Monday, 8 June 2015

There are so many hair treatments on offer at salons that it can be confusing to choose which one is right for you. Most of them offer benefits that nourish and hydrate hair for a smoother, stronger outcome. But EVOX Hair Rejuvenation Therapy caught our eye because it delivers biologically active molecules to revitalise, reconstruct and reinforce the natural structure of your hair – in the most innovative way!

EVOX’s Molecular Treatment is made of dormant cells that are literally frozen. The stylist activates them by defrosting the serum using a hair dryer. The resulting gel-like product is applied to your hair in sections, and then your hair is wrapped in cling foam and placed under heat for 15 minutes. Then comes the shock – your hair is rinsed under ice-cold water to seal the cuticles, trapping the active ingredients into the hair.

The treatment is done monthly, over three months to get the best effects. SCAR Hair co-owner, Andrew Guilfoyle, explains that he has seen dramatic results when it is used on hair that has become damaged by regular colouring or highlighting. It restores your hair to prime condition but has another benefit – limp or thin hair becomes fuller and stronger after the treatments. So if you are looking to boost your hair from blah to bouncy, this is a treatment for you!

EVOX Hair Rejuvenation costs the following per treatment: short to medium hair R550; long hair R760. The treatment is available at the following salons:

Cape Town:
SCAR Hair 021-422-5900

Franco International (Sandton 011-783-9405; Cresta 011-784-4546; Eastgate 011-622-9491)

SOOOO amazing! I had this done in April and it makes such a difference. It does take quite a few hours to do, but you will NOT regret it. Use with a good salon shampoo and conditioner to make the treatment last longer.
