Becoming a mom not only influences the big things in life, but the little things like your daily beauty routine suddenly have to change too. We chatted to blogger and yummy mummy Kim Gray about the changes her beauty routine underwent after she gave birth.
“I love playing with beauty products, it’s part of my job, but since I’ve had Harry the type of products I use have varied slightly.
Usually spa time would be an indulgent !QMS Medicosmetics Facial. Still the best facial around, in my opinion, really boosting the skin’s collagen production, radiance and glow. I always see such an amazing result. But since Harry, I’m still trying to get the body back into shape and treatments are more body focused. The Mama Mio Bikini Bootcamp at Langaro Lifestyle Centre is amazing. A seriously invigorating body treatment including scrubs, serums and loads of manual stimulation to the thighs, buttocks and middle area.
When it comes to hair, I used to be addicted to moisturising products, like the Schwartzkopf Moisture Kick Shampoo which I love and the rich and creamy Moroccanoil Hair Mask. Now I am more focused on maintaining colour as I don’t have as much time on my hands to visit the salon. I’m currently shampooing with Kérastase Colour Radiance Protecting Shampoo, it smells amazing. And I use a leave-in spray conditioner, it also saves heaps of time! I love the Schwartzkopf Moisture Kick Spray Conditioner.
When it comes to skincare, I’m a sucker for a good mask! I love the hydrating and line-minimising !QMS Medicosmetics Hydra Foaming Mask for its silky texture and fun foam experience, but these days I tend to use a leave-on mask like the Optiphi Hyaluronic Acid Active Complex Mask which I leave on over night. The Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Boosting 5-Minute Facial is also fabulous. I love how the self-foaming mask feels on my skin as I can feel those exfoliating enzymes tingling and working away. The serum feels super hydrating too. This is a total winner! Fast and effective.
One thing I’ve always done and always will, is to never leave the house without mascara on. Lancôme has formulated a semi permanent mascara which lasts for 3 days. It looks super natural and the lightweight, non-clumping texture makes this a super time-saving invention!
When I’m not at home blogging, or out and about, I love to wear a good BB cream that still allows for a natural look. Again, !QMS Medicosmetics is my go-to. Their Sport Active Tinted Day Cream adapts to any skin tone and leaves your skin looking radiant, just what a tired mom needs! When I have the time, I also ghd my hair straight so that it’s manageable and looks neat. It just makes me feel good! I have my eye on the new Pastel collection. I believe when you feel good, you radiate more confidence and happiness – which is good for baby, no?”
