As the winter months set in, most of us aren’t aware the cold can wreak havoc on our tresses. Your every-day conditioner will replenish your hair to a point, but by including a hair mask in your hair care routine, you can keep your strands healthy all winter long. Plus you get to spend some ‘me time’ on yourself.

We bring you a few of the top hair masks and treatments that will keep your hair from falling, drying out, losing colour and ultimately control that winter frizz.

Sunsilk Hair Fall Solution, R36.99

An intensive treatment mask designed to combat hair fall, which is caused by damaged, broken hair. This mask is enriched with amino vitamin complex that helps strengthen hair.

Wella SP Color Save Mask, R225

We all know the frustration that comes with fading colour as a result of washing. Wella SP has the remedy for you. With 3D colour protect technology this mask will help continuously protect coloured hair against fading and colour shift.

Charles Worthington Mineral Hair Rescue, R94.99

If your hair is in need of some TLC, then this is the answer. Infused with argan oil, marine minerals and conditioning proteins, Charles Worthington’s Mineral Hair Rescue will help restore dry and damaged hair.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Frizz Remedy, R84.99

The Aussie philosophy goes like this: ‘There’s more to life than hair but it’s a good place to start.’ For misbehaving, frizzy hair this Aussie deep treatment mask will help take control. With it’s unique formula of Aloe-Vera and Australian Jojoba seed oil – these ingredients help replenish moisture, reducing the frizz, leaving it luscious and shiny. Plus the smell is devine.

Phytokarité Ultra Nourishing Mask, R319.95

With shea butter and cashew oils, you immediately know this is going to be a saviour for super dry hair. These nourishing ingredients will help regenerate and revitalise your hair, leaving it shiny, soft and manageable.

Dove Intensive Repair Deep Treatment Mask, R52.99

With micro-moisture serum and fibre-actives, this mask helps restore, repair and protect. Dove’s Intensive Repair Deep Treatment Mask leaves hair strong on the inside and healthy-looking and smooth on the outside.

Dr. Miracle’s Damaged Hair Medicated Treatment, R89.99

Dr. Miracle‘s ‘Feel It’ Formula helps promote strong, shiny, healthy, growing hair. Feel the tingling sensation of this treatment mask as it helps nourish your hair. This is Dr. Miracle’s prescription for those stubborn hair and scalp problems, and helps re-awaken hair follicles, add shine, condition and moisturise.

Does anyone know how much better a salon treatment is compared to a store bought one? Salon treatments can be super expensive, but if they work, it’s worth it. Thoughts?

Ive recent purchased Dove intensive repair after seeing its commercial ads. My hair is very healthy and i dont have any concerns, but after using this product, i felt the difference, my hair is very light no tangles, easy to comb and i can do the “dove hair flick” . I love their shampoos as well and it smells wonderful.
I use the shampoo also for my dogs and they would smell wonderful for the entire week.????

Received a sample recently of the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle. It is amazing, particularly for naturally curly hair. I’ve since bought some.
I’d recommend the range of Aussie products.

I’m using the Dove mask at the moment and I am quite happy with it. I also tried the Aussie 3 minute miracle (sample), but it wasn’t as great as I hoped it would be. I have to mention that my hair is extremely dry and damaged :(

I got a sample of the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Frizz Remedy in my June Ruby Box but have yet to try it out. I have used the Wella serum before and that was great. Sure the mask would be fab too!

I have used Sunsilk before. It’s okay but I am sure there is something better out there. Will try the others, maybe Dove?
