Winter hair treatments

Wednesday, 26 June 2013

Lets face it. Our hair can make, or break us! We all know the feeling when we’re having a bad hair day. You.Just.Feel.Gross! By adding a nourishing at-home hair mask to your routine at least once a month can do your hair a world of good. Not only will it restore your hair’s health, it will look better and be more manageable.

It’s not only the summer sun that causes damage to our hair – all the heat styling we do (particularly in the colder months) can have a negative effect on our tresses. This includes blow-drying, hair straightening and the use of curling tongs. Too much heat can cause split ends, damage and even hair loss.

Winter hair treatments

Did you know we lose up to 100 hairs per day?

Try one of these nourishing and repairing masks and oils to give your hair body and life, and protect it from the effects of heat styling.

2. Wella SP Luxe Oil, R413

3. Evo The Great Hydrator Moisture Mask, R285

Moroccanoil is great and it makes your hair extremely soft, but you need to be careful to only use a small amount because it can make your hair greasy.

I haven’t tried any of these products yet. I love the Schwarzkopf Gloss one minute leave in treatment. It leaves your hair smelling great and feeling silky soft. I would love to try the Moroccan Oil, just have to save up a bit.

The Moroccanoil is fabulous! Although I’ve been using oils for ages..specifically raw coconut oil which is all kinds of awesome for my curls.

Oooo Wouldn’t mind trying the Evo. However I like the Body Shop’s coconut hair oil for R90 too! It lasts forever and works like a charm.

With my budget it’ll be hard for me to try out most of these products, so i only really have one choice and that is the L’Oreal Elvive.. To bad we cant get samples to see which product is compatible with our hair so we can make the choice without regretting spending money on something that won’t suit your hair type.

I love my Moroccan Oil but I try not to use it too often so my hair doesn’t get used it it. One week I’ll use an oil from the Davines range, and then use the Morrocan Oil next.

The NouNou mask from Davines is amazing. Try wrapping your hair in cling wrap for 20 minutes with it on if you can. Your hair soaks up all the goodness and is left so soft.

I bought myself Moroccan oil a few months again and even though it is a bit pricy it is value for money. A little goes a long way when using it. A pea size it all that is needed and it works wonders to my hair.

If you want instant results in a nano second “D” for Davines. It does nourish, it does repair and its hydration factors are quite literally a miracle. Moroccanoil is rather over-rated in my eyes, and there’s loads of other treatments with the same ingredients at a fraction of the price.

Moroccanoil is very overpriced and really doesn’t compare to Greenlight Argan serum at all.

Seriously who would believe 100 hairs per day, sounds scary enough. Do the masks and oils reduce the amount of hair loss or what?

Thanks. A natural alternative is warm olive oil, or coconut oil!
