Don’t we all wish we could look as if we’ve just graced the cover of a glossy magazine? And if we could all look like Leighton Meester on the cover of Marie Claire’s July issue, bonus!
Rosy cheeks, flawless complexion, and sexy wind-blown hair (no wayward strains getting stuck in her lip gloss) – here are a few tips worth trying to get her look.
To get Leighton’s perfectly primed flawless complexion, apply a primer onto your skin before applying your foundation. Try Inglot Under Make-Up Base, R219. It will foundation glide onto your skin, with longer lasting effects.
When it comes to applying blusher, you don’t want to look like a clown – less is more. You can always layer if you are not happy with the first bit of colour. To create this flushed look try a lightweight powder blush like Clarins Blush Prodige Cheek Colour, R360. It will add soft colour and luminosity to your cheeks.
Perfectly groomed eyebrows will make a world of difference to your face. If they are in need of some shaping visit your beautician or tweeze them yourself (BUT ONLY if you know what you’re doing). If you have the opposite, and are in need of some filling, use an eye pencil or shadow that’s one shade lighter than your hair colour to fill in your brows, using upward strokes.
Conceal and illuminate
To make your eyes and nose and all those other appendages that cause shadows stand out, apply concealer or use illuminating pen on those areas. YSL Touche Éclat, R445, is great for this and is handy to pop into your bag for touch ups.
Subtle yet defined eyes
Line your eye with a gel or pencil eyeliner for definition. Try MAC’s Eye Kohl Teddy liner, R155. Shade in your entire lid area with a brown shadow, and then make use of a lighter shade to illuminate the rest of the eye area. Add some volumising mascara to create Meester’s sultry look.
Glossy lips with a hint of colour
To finish off Leighton’s look sweep some nude lip gloss over with reflecting pigments. Try Catrice in Juri is Gagarin.
