MAC is known for setting the make-up trends each season, and Autumn / Winter 2014 is no different. This season, it’s all about individuality, and finding looks and products that are best for YOU. Think lots of light and clean complexions teamed with contrasting colours and eye-catching eyebrows.
This trend draws inspiration from all things organic. Think shades of rust, ochre, mushroom and taupe; basically all the shades that are found in nature. These are unconventional colours, but don’t be afraid to play around with them – when paired with a clean complexion they make a bold statement.
With focus on lined eyes and striking eyebrows, this trend plays on linear, horizontal and gestural elements. Brows have a fluffy texture and no heavy sculpting, and eyes are lined in all shapes and colours. There’s also a big focus on mascara – the more layers the better!
This trend is all about clean, luminous skin and light-reflective tones. Emphasis is put on areas of the face where light would naturally fall, and these areas are exaggerated. Golds, coppers and rusts dominate this trend.
With Unprocessed, you have a very subtle trend. The main and only focus is the skin, not just on the face, but on the body as a whole. The same texture that’s created on the skin is carried onto the arms, chest, hands and other exposed areas. “Cover just as much as you need to,” says Michelle Lee Collins, MAC Senior Make-Up Artist.
Are you brave enough to try any of these looks?
