Five new foundation finds

Tuesday, 2 December 2014

In the market for a new foundation? Here, five new formulations we’re getting excited about:

Clinique New Even Better Compact Make-Up, R430
The perfect compact to keep in your bag! A light cream foundation with a powdery finish that will help even out your skin. The great thing about this foundation is that there is a shade for all, from very fair to dark sienna.

Bionike Defence Color High Protection Protective Foundation SPF30, R225
Perfect for those with intolerant skin, and great to apply after aesthetic treatments such as laser and peels to help shield the skin and cover up marks and redness. The integrity of this formula is preserved in their airless bottle.

Clarins Ever Matte Foundation, R395
Want a matte finish? This is the perfect shine-control balancing foundation. It’s oil-free and has plant-based ingredients that control excess sebum. Normal, dry and combination skin types can use this foundation for a flawless matte veil.

Gosh Natural Touch Foundation, R180
If you don’t like full coverage then Gosh has the answer for you. This lightweight foundation is almost invisible on the skin but still gives you the coverage you are looking for.

L’Oréal Paris Nutri Lift Gold, R229.95
Enhanced with six active ingredients, this is definitely one if you are concerned about ageing. It gives you a smoother looking appearance with an instant lift effect.

I’ll try the Loreal one because it’s a tried and tested brand.

I found a new foundation at my plastic surgeons office, Dr Chetan Patel in sandton. It’s called oxygenetix and it heals the skin as you wear it. It is also the only foundation that allows skin to breathe when you have it on. They have two formulations one for skin plague by acne and one for everyone else. Then they have colors to suit everyone and you choose you color based on your skin undertone, yellow or blue

I really do want to try Clarins Ever Matt Foundation. Can anyone tell me if its light-mediam or medium-full coverage? All I’ve heard about this Foundation is excellent things. I can’t wait to try it.

Hi Julie. The foundation is light-medium coverage depending on how you apply it. It is best applied with a stippling brush or damp sponge. If you use your fingers to apply the foundation, it will have a heavier coverage.

I am surprised that these foundations are priced as they are.. One of them may be a stocking filler option. I like the packaging of the GOSH one. It reminds me on Garnier products.

SO happy to see a post which has included GOSH’s Natural Touch Foundation. It has been my most used foundation on 2014 and it is not given enough credit – as the article says, it is super lightweight yet offers you fantastic coverage.

Have a look at oxygentix foundation, it actually heals the skin as it covers imperfections by infusing oxygen into the skin.
