Get the look: Shay Mitchell

Pretty Little Liars star, Shay Mitchell, is not one to shy away from daring looks. One thing is for sure though, no matter what look she goes for, she always looks gorgeous!

We’re used to seeing Shay rock old Hollywood glam make-up, so we were pleasantly surprised when she stepped out onto the red carpet at the Teen Choice Awards sporting a vampy lip and tousled side plait.

Get her bold look with these easy steps:

Step 1: Prep your skin with a primer and apply a lightweight foundation or BB cream to even out your skin tone and create a clean complexion.

Step 2: Using a gel or liquid eyeliner, line the top lash line and finish off with a flick. Whether you prefer a simple cat eye or a bold winged eye, both will complement this make-up look, so the choice is yours.

Step 3: Finish off your eye make-up by adding some va-va volume to your lashes with a false lash effect mascara.

Step 4: To create the perfect bold lip, line your lips to prevent colour from bleeding. Once you have applied your lip liner, fill in your lips with a bold red lipstick of your choice – we prefer a matte finish for this look.

Step 5: Add a pop of colour to your cheeks with a light shimmery blush. We suggest using a multi-toned blush that can double up as a highlighter.

Step 6: To recreate Shay’s side plait, prep the hair with a volumising shampoo, conditioner and mousse before creating a deep side part and blow-drying roughly. Once your hair is dry, pull it to the side and loosely plait it. Pull the plait lightly to create more width and spray it with a finishing spray to ensure it keeps its shape.
Tip: This look is best created on day-old hair. If your hair is freshly washed, spritz the roots with a dry shampoo to give it a tousled feel.
