L’Oreal have a new long wearing lippie on the shelves, Infallible Le Rouge, R139,95.
It promises a whopping ten hours of colour and shine and, thanks to the addition of vitamin E in a rich, creamy base, it won’t dry out your lips as much as other long-wearing lipsticks.
Check out the commercial starring L’Oreal ambassador and red lippie queen Gwen Stefani:
I was given Molten Caramel to test. As it’s a very dark, rich brown, it wasn’t really my colour, so I made a point of wearing it on a Sunday when I’d be home all day writing.
It certainly didn’t last ten hours – more like six, but that’s still pretty impressive, especially so for a plain old lipstick and not some tricky two-part lip colour that requires some kind of top coat. I also tested it vigorously, eating a salad covered in oily dressing and sipped a soda from a glass as opposed to with a straw.
Last, but not least, I also liked that it didn’t bleed or feather and yes, as promised, it didn’t leave my lips looking puckery and dry.
