Revlon ambassador, TV host and radio DJ Bonang Matheba chats to us exclusively:
What is your first memory of Valentine’s Day?
The cuteness and innocence that was us in school. How everyone was getting teddy bears and cups from friends. That time, it was not about boys at all, I was scared of boys and the dating scene.
What lipstick shade would you pick for date night?
The Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Showy or Unapologetic. I am in love with the two shades. Both are bold and just show off my lips perfectly.
Any hairstyle you find particularly romantic?
Different styles work for different people. So I say do something that will look smashing on you and that will take your confidence to another level. After all, confidence is attractive, and that will just add on to your romantic experience.
For all the singletons out there, what is one way they can celebrate too?
I say take care of you. No one is responsible for your happiness but you. Yes, it is wonderful to have a better half but if there is no one in your life as yet, go all out for you. Do all the things that make you feel alive.
Lingerie, chocolates or teddy bears?
Definitely lingerie! They have a tendency of making a woman feel real good.
When you apply your favorite Revlon product, how do you feel as a woman?
I feel really confident and ready to tackle my day. They amplify my features and youth, looking radiant and camera-ready all day long.
Can you share your thoughts on the ‘Love is on’ campaign?
I think it is a lovely campaign, especially that we are in the month of Love, February. It is the perfect way to engage and connect with people around the world. Love is beautiful and should be spread and that is exactly what this campaign is doing.
What do you think gets the guys attention more, bold lips or a smokey eye?
Bold lips and smokey eyes are always a winner, but unfortunately you can’t concentrate on your lips and forget about your eyes or the rest of your face. Do them both perfectly and you will win a gentlemen’s attention.
What flower do you think represents love?
Calla Flowers. There is something so pure and serene about them. Exactly how love is supposed to be, peaceful, untroubled and beautiful.
