What we say:
This hand cream has won numerous awards, and after trying it myself, I’m not surprised that it did! I’m not exaggerating when I say that this hand cream is the closest thing to perfect I have ever come across. I have never used a hand cream that felt better on my skin…

First things first – the texture is amazing. The cream is thick and rich, but when you start to massage it into your skin, it magically disappears without leaving your hands feeling greasy or clammy. The smell is soft and feminine without being too overpowering – it certainly won’t compete with your perfume! The packaging is wonderful; I absolutely love the tube and how easily product squeezes out of it.

But most importantly, the effect this product has on my skin makes it a winner. After massaging the cream in I can instantly feel an improvement in my skin’s moisture levels, and after an hour or so, it is velvety soft. With regular use I’ve noticed that my skin is less prone to dryness and looks and feels a lot healthier overall. Ten out of ten from me!

  1. The L’Occitane travel size hand creams are phenomenal. This particular one is my favourite. The 30ml size is a great a “do add” to your handbag. The packaging is perfect with the screw top ensuring no spills in a messy handbag. The overall design look and feel of this brand speaks to me.

The price is fair at R120 for 30ml for this convenient mobile moisture on demand.

This particular variant is for dry skin and a pea size amount will give you great moisture and a wonderful yet subtle fragrance. I have dry and sensitive skin so keeping a moisturiser close is the easy way to prevent dry flaky hands. Especially on the go when bathroom soaps tend to be a bit harsh.

The ingredients in this product including Shea Butter, honey extract, almond, coconut oil, rapeseed, rosemary do a great job at moisturising the skin. The subtle scent of rose and honey mixed with Shea butter is a pleasant find.

    I love this product.

  2. I love how this hand cream intensely moisturises and has a soft divine scent. My hands are left soft and supple. However, I feel its overpriced. I have tried other hand creams which have the same effect and cost much less.

  3. This hand cream is hydrating with a smell that sweeps you away to an exotic island. You only have to use a little bit and your hands feel amazingly soft. The textures is somewhat thick but not oily.

  4. This product I have been constantly carrying in my handbag for about 7 years. I am never without this. The richness is absolutely indulgent and even though it feeds my skin incredibly, it does not leave my hands feeling greasy at all. You only need to use a small dab of this cream as a little literally goes a long way. The packaging is smart because you can roll it up and not waste any of the cream plus it just looks sleek and cool. I always receive compliments when I am or have used this product because it smells so good and make my hands look so incredible!

  5. I got this in my rubybox and whilst I give it full marks for nourishing, moisturising having a thicker richer texture than other handcreams.while it has a rich long lasting fragrance and while the packaging enables you to roll up the foil without wasting even a little bit it simply too expensive for a purchase again.

  6. So far I haven’t found a hand cream to top this one! I love the tube packaging. You need very little, so investing in a full size tube is worth every cent. I have used the cream on my face, neck and heels when travelling. It really feeds and nourishes. An absolute treat.

  7. It’s very expensive but I have used up a travel size version of this hand cream and I’m in love. It’s so hydrating and soaks into the skin instantly. I’d buy the full size but only use it right before bed since it’s the only way I can afford it.

  8. This is my absolute favourite hard cream. It was a gift from my better half, which makes it even better! It’s the perfect balance of nourishing richness without being oily. You can easily apply this at work or at any time in the day, and it won’t feel oily or uncomfortable. The scent is another bonus, it’s not too floral (which I sometimes find with the Crabtree creams) and has a gorgeous shea butter scent which is natural and earthy.

Totally worth the splurge. The large tube costs about R300 and has lasted me really well! I generally keep this at by bedside and use as a bedtime treat for my hands.

  9. I love the hype about this hand cream and the fact that one is sold every second around the world. I knew I had to try it to believe it and let me say that I was not disappointed. In fact I was shocked at how hydrated and how soft my hands felt. Its as if I had a hand-makeover! The smell is utterly heavenly and the tube means that you can squeeze out every single drop. The cream is instantly absorbed and no nasty residue is left behind. Instead, you are left with gorgeous hands that glows with health! Its an investment for sure.
