  1. Colour
I have the Maybelline ColourShow nail polish in Mauve Kiss (shade 150), which is a nude, beige shade. It is my favourite shade as it is so neutral and matches with any outfit.

    Packaging
Nothing extra special out the bottle but it is nice and clean and simple. It has a medium size brush for fast application with little streaking and mess .

    Application & Effect
This is a fast drying nail polish and really does dry in 60 seconds.
2 coats is enough for great colour. And no top coat is needed with this.
It has a medium shine once dry, not too glossy but not matte. I will definitely try the metallic shades though, they look great!

    Longevity
Its fairly long wearing, lasts about 5-7 days, depending how much you work with your hands. Its mostly chip resistant .

    Price
It retails for about R40 so its really affordable, especially compared to other make up brand nail polishes!

  2. I am currently wearing Maybelline ColorShow in Fall Deep. In the bottle this is a pretty mauve-type colour with a slight hint of nude – basically on the nude/beige side of mauve. It took two coats for the colour on my nails to resemble the colour in the bottle (first coat was streaky). However, once the product dried it barely resembled the colour in the bottle. The beige-y hints deepened into a muddy brown and looks like a purple-y brown instead of the colour in the bottle.
I can’t complain about the rest of the product though. I love the pots which are sturdy glass bottles with a very sophisticated design – makes the product look more expensive than it is. The pots have deep necks – which is great for removing excess product from the applicator brush without the risk of spill. The applicator brush is generous and easy to handle – I love that it is thick and disperses the perfect amount of product in a single application. The product seems dry in 30 minutes – but as I discovered when I pushed an elevator button 2 hours later (and consequently dented the tip of my right index finger) it actually only sets properly after about 8 hours (which is also when you will notice the colour change).
I am not sure whether I would try the other colours in this range – as colour integrity is a big deal for nail varnish. However, it should be noted that this is an excellent quality product for a really low price. Nothing, other than the price, about this product indicates that it is a bargain buy – so I may be tempted to try another shade.

  3. I have been using the ColorShow Nail Colour for about a year now. The colours are opaque enough to get away with one coat, with pretty nude, coral and tealish shades that makes you go back for more. The brush and bottle size makes this comfortable to work with. At 7ml it’s slightly smaller than regular nail polishes, but the fact that it offers chip-resistant wear and that you can wear it for at least 5 days means it’s good value for money. Have you tried it out? If so, then comment below.

  4. I purchased a few of the Maybelline nail polishes at Dischem for R35, which is a bargain! My favourite one is Mauve Kiss. It is a beautiful beige that is perfect for everyday wear and especially if you work in an environment where you cannot necessarily wear bright shades. The brush is of medium thickness. It applies relatively well and you get a streak free opaque nail in one coat. The lasting power, however, is not impressive. I usually struggle with chipping nails within 3 days.

  5. I didn’t enjoy this nail colour much at all… It was a disappointment and I won’t purchase it again.
