What we say:
‘The new Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster is just like every other Dermalogica product I use and fall in love with. It has a broad spectrum of SPF 50 and is so light it can be applied to face and neck for full coverage. I like to add it to my foundation or moisturiser in the morning so I know I’ll be protected throughout the day. It comes in a cute little bottle that is perfect to keep in my bag. Dermalogica’s Solar Defense Booster has active ingredients in it too, so at the same time that it’s offering sun protection it’s also taking care of my skin.’

‘Sensitive skin! Moody skin! And you name it, I have it and it has mind of its own. So I was given the Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster SPF 50. You can mix it in your foundation or face cream, to give you that all day protection. I had a chance to use it along with two friends, about a week ago. They both loved it; they said it made their skin feel so nice and soft and smooth and not greasy, which is typical with most facial sunscreens – GREASY FACE. No girl wants to be all shiny and greasy in the sun; so uncool and unsexy. Dermalogica’s Solar Defense Booster is in a winner in that respect.

‘In terms of protection, I was in the sun most of the day and it was hot. This definitely is a great product that worked its magic on me. Most Dermalogica products are a bit pricey for me, so I’ll be using my bottle sparingly. But if you have the cash to spend on this, DO IT! You won’t be sorry.’

  1. I agree with the reviewers here, it is a great product and has a very natural, non-irritating matte finish. There really is no feeling of oiliness which is so rare for sunscreens! My problem is this: Dermalogica produces face creams which cost about R800 for 100ml of product. I do not see why this product could not be incorporated into the daily face creams (e.g. Active Moist which is a moisturiser most people use as a day cream in summer).

It is a beautiful product, but I will not be spending that money on a sunscreen. There are gorgeous alternatives from dermatological brands like Lamelle.

  2. Great product, like all Dermalogica products. Light-weight and perfect for my skin type. The price is way too far out of my usual price range for skin care products and so I would only purchase this for special occasions like when going on vacation. Very impressive and worth the splurge!
