Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Lovely make-up remover

I have been absolutely loving Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. With a small splash on a cottton pad it removed even the toughest mascara and eyeliner with a few swipes.
The consistency is watery and not oily at all. Once you’ve removed your make-up, your skin is left feeling moisturized and not oily. Although I like to wash my face after removing make-up, I don’t feel like I have to wash this off after.
The packaging is also great with a clip lid which means no fighting to screw on the lid when your hands are slippery.
Highly recommend!

Mavala Nude Collection

Easy application, fast drying, great colour

I have been loving my Mavala nude collection nail polish. This Swiss brand of nail polish is available from Clicks and the bottles are quite a bit smaller than other nail polish brands. I love the size of the bottle for two reasons:

1) Easy to pop into your handbag for touch ups at any time.

2) You never get to that end of the bottle sticky bit that I hate with big bottles.
The brush is flat and exactly the right width or easy application and with 3 coats I had great opaque colour. I found that the paint itself was quite thin and that it dried quickly and with one coat of Top-coat it lasted all week.
Can’t wait to get more colours!

ICE BOX Colors Water Sign Collection

Ice box polish

I received three Ice Box colours to review; Mermaids are Real (a shimmery turquoise), Bought a Yacht (a bright light blue) and The Royal navy (a dark shimmery navy blue). I have to start by saying that I’m a nudes and pink nail polish kind of girl and would never normally even try blue shades.
The bottles are cute and little, I can imagine that they would be convenient to take with on holiday. The handles are covered in a smooth rubbery material which makes them easy to grip but unfortunately the brush is round and thick which makes it difficult to apply.
The polish itself applies very very thinly and I found I had to 3 or 4 layers to get an opaque colour. It also takes long to dry so I had to wait ages between applying layers.
My last disappointment with this polish was how short it lasted. I usually get away with at least 3 days before my polish starts to chip but this was chipped after just a day.
All in all, although the colours are fun for summer I can’t say I’d use this again and won’t be recommending it to any of my friends.

Lipidol After Shower Oil

The answer to dry skin

I have extremely dry skin and although my dermatologist has warned me against oil of any kind on my face she’s happy with some body oil.
I love using this oil after a shower or bath. It has a completely neutral smell and most absorbs into the skin (although, you will still feel quite oily after). My only issue with this product would be the lid- as you can imagine your hands are slippery after applying the oil which makes screwing the lid back on pretty tricky.

Maybelline Baby Lips Peach Kiss

Delicious Lip Balm

I am a lip-balm addict and was drawn to the new Baby Lips range because of the added tint and SPF 20. I have been using the Peach and really love it.
It adds a very sheer colour to the lips that I found looks great over some lipstick.
I’m not sure if it’s because it tastes good or because it’s so thin when you apply it but I find it doesn’t last much more than 45 minutes.

Inglot Under Make-Up Base

Lovely under make-up base

This under make-up base is great! I’m not huge on primers and if I’m in a hurry I’ll admit it’s the first part of my beauty routine to go.
After trying the Inglot base it’s now my have to have product for long days where I really need my make-up to last and still look fresh after work.
It applied smoothly with a silky almost silicon feeling to it and it soaks right into the skin. I have also found that if I use my fingers to apply the product that I do not need to use much to cover my whole face.
It is quite pricey for the size but worth a try if you are in the market for a new primer.
