8 Superhero serums to turn back the clock

Friday, 14 August 2015

If your skincare routine is still sans serum, it’s time to invest in one – pronto. Many people ask, “If I’m already moisturising twice a day, why the need for an extra product?” The truth is that a serum contains more concentrated active ingredients (and in higher amounts) than your moisturiser does. These ingredients (think along the lines of retinol, antioxidants and cell-communicating ingredients) are essential for maintaining a youthful complexion and slowing down the ageing process, as well as for treating skin conditions like pigmentation and acne.

All-in-all, a serum boosts your skincare regime, and provides you with the extra ingredients you need to reveal your best skin.

Here, 8 serums we recommend you give a try:

Gatineau Active Eclat Flash Radiance, R635

African Extracts Rooibos Advantage Triple Action Serum, R169.99

L’Oréal Paris Skin Perfection Advanced Serum, R124.95

Anesi Cell-EGF Epidermal Growth Factor Serum

Eucerin Volume Filler Concentrate, R329.99

Juliette Armand Elements 05 Vitamins Complex Serum

Nuxe Serum Crème Fraîche de Beauté, R370

REN Firming and Smoothing Serum, R840

What serum do you use?

Which one is great for sensitive skin? I tried the Clarins one before and it gave me pimples.

I use argan oil or a mix of organic coconut & olive oil – these are a FAB natural alternative!

They sound amazing but beauty products are just so expeeensive!! It is so much cheaper to just use the basics, but as I am getting older perhaps I should make the investment!
