Keen to update your look this season? Here’s what’s new, along with some fresh ways to rev-up your winter beauty routine.
Get ready for Fenty beauty
The biggest bombshell to hit beauty shelves since Kylie Cosmetics has been confirmed. The truth is, we were never ready. Rihanna finally confirmed her beauty range will be launching “This fall”.
RiRi is known for her edgy style and breaking boundaries, so this new venture has us rather excited. Beauties can sign up to get details as they’re released. Kylie’s kits are now available on takealot.com, so here’s hoping Fenty Beauty will be too.
Barbed wire brows, anyone? It’s all about statement brows these days. Beauties on the “Gram” are getting rather creative and simply having full brows doesn’t cut it. From #BarbedWireBrows (pictured above) to #FeatherBrows that make your brows look, well, like feathers, and the more adventurous #DragonBrows. Check them out on Instagram and let us know if you’ll experiment with this look.
The Acupress Jade Roller Massager seems to be the latest beauty must-have. The face and neck massager uses Jade crystals and the healing powers believed to be attributed to the stone. It is used to reduce dark circles under the eyes, minimise puffiness, and overall promotes blood circulation around the eye area.
So how does it work? Kristin Petrovich, author of the book Elemental Energy states “We are made up of water, tissues, and minerals, our bones have a crystalline structure, and just as we have an electronic exchange with the Earth, we have an electronic exchange with crystals, gemstones, and precious minerals”. The energy is believed to work with the body’s energy to create a sense of balance. We spotted it on Amazon, if you’re keen to try.
The latest hair dye trend? Pearlescent hair! It’s dominating Pinterest boards and Insta beauties are taking note. Think shiny, pearl-like effects and multi-dimensional tones of colour. Any colour goes, just like pearls vary in colour, so go for platinum, to mother-of-pearl rainbow hues with a pearly sheen.
It’s reportedly not a very easy look to achieve though, because hair needs to be stripped down to a light blond, without any “warmth”, and then colourists work to create your desired shade – A.K.A more than one visit to the salon. A beauty in the office tried it and we’re having serious hair envy.
Let us know how you feel about these new trends – and Rihanna’s upcoming new beauty line. Eep!
