Spruce up your look with these must-try summer do’s.
The geometric bob
Take a cue from our favourite modern-day style icon, Solange Knowles, with this edgy take on the bob. This blunt and super-clean cut gives you hair a triangular shape to it. It’s perfect for women with naturally textured hair.
The alternative bun
What we love about this style is that it can be achieved with all types of hair textures. All you need is length. Try it out with your braids and keep it natural by allowing a few strands out. If one bun isn’t enough, why not add four more like model Joan Smalls. Tie Bantu knots at the top of your head and let the rest of your hair fall loosely on your shoulders. One style we definitely want to try is the look created by TRESemmé at the Charles Youssef show during NYFW SS17, where the bun was braided and left to hang low on the hair.
The wet hair look
This trend dominated the red carpet and runway with stars like Kim Kardashian and Zoe Larsson taking it on at the MTV Video Music Awards. We liked Jason Wu’s take on the trend at NYFW SS17. The look was achieved by spraying a soft bristle brush with hairspray to pull all the hair back and to mimic the slick shine of wet hair.
The deep side part
It might seem like a small change but deepening your side part can make a major impact on your look. It’s also very easy to achieve – all you need is a bobby pin to tuck your hair behind your ear and allow the rest of your hair to hang loosely. You can easily switch this into a prim look by tying your hair into a tight and low ponytail.
We’ve seen this colour has been popping up on out Instagram feeds in lip colours, eyeshadow and now hair. The shimmering pinky-metallic hue has been embraced by stars like Emma Roberts, Ella Fanning and now GIRLS star Jemima Kirke.
