Lancôme Bright Expert Dark Spot Corrector and Radiance Activator, R595, contains a mix of AHAs (these act as chemical exfoliants, speeding up cellular turnover to reveal new, brighter-looking skin) and gentle skin lightening ingredients like liquorice root and yeast extract. If used both morning and night, it promises to lighten up dark spots and reveal a brighter complexion overall.
I decided to put it to the test on my very mild pigmentation – two small blotches beneath each eye that darken up enough to warrant concealer in summer and another even darker splotch that sits high up on my forehead.
Having tested it for just over four weeks, I can tell you that it definitely did brighten up my complexion and was particularly good at zapping any marks left behind from an old pimple. In regards to fading pigmentation, it hasn’t ‘obliterated’ my blotches, but has lightened them up to the point where I don’t feel the need to cover them up. Still, if your pigmentation is particularly bad, I think you’d be better off looking into a laser treatment.
Other things I liked about it? It’s got a fabulously light non-sticky texture that sinks into your skin in a flash. This is great because I can wear it under my regular moisturiser in the day and it doesn’t aggravate my very oily T-section. I also liked its subtle floral scent.
In all, if you’ve got very mild pigmentation, dark spots left behind from a breakout or just want brighter-looking skin in general, this is something I’d definitely recommend.
