Multitasking beauty products for busy mothers

You might be far too busy to carefully apply layers of creams and foundations these days, but that doesn’t mean you want to look like the tired, harassed mother that you are! Here are a few fantastic, fuss-free beauty products that will have you looking like you’ve just enjoyed a full eight hours sleep.

Dry Shampoo
If your hair requires daily washing, blow drying and a run through with a flat iron, you might be inclined to push it a few extra days in between washes because you just don’t have the time. Invest in a good dry shampoo and you can totally get away with it. We love the range of Batiste Dry Shampoos.  Run it through your hair in the morning and style quickly. It will get rid of any greasiness and add a natural, “just washed” bounce.

2.    In-Shower Body Moisturiser
Nivea have just launched a new In-Shower Body Moisturiser that doubles up as a shower gel. Cover your body while in the shower and you don’t need to moisturise when you get out.

3.    Eye cream
This is a must when you are a busy, sleep-deprived mom. Eliminate puffiness and dark circles with Garnier’s Caffeine Eye Roll On. It’s easy to apply and works quickly and effectively.

4.    Serum (and plenty of water)
Before falling asleep at night, make sure you have a large glass of water and some skin serum next to your bed. Broken nights, breastfeeding and post-partum hormones can wreak havoc on your skin so when you are up with baby, drink water to stay hydrated and slap on some hydrating serum. You’ll wake up looking more refreshed and your skin will have a healthier, plumper appearance. Try the new Clarins Double Serum Complete Age Control Concentrate. Double the impact!

5.    Cleansing face wipes
You want to maximise every second of sleep and may feel tempted to collapse into bed without removing the dirt and grime of the day. If that’s the case, a pack of easy-to-use cleansing face wipes next to your bed will mean you can roll over, wipe your face and fall asleep in one easy movement!

6.    Eight Hour Cream
A must-have in your bag at all times, whether you are a mother or not! Elizabeth Arden’s famed Eight Hour Cream sorts out dry lips and skin. Perfect for when you are on the go.

7.    Cheek and lip tint
Save the time-consuming applications for when you have a rare night out! For day-to-day make-up, try Cheek ‘n’ Lip Tint from 2True. The rose-tinted stain is kiss-proof and lasts on the cheeks and lips for hours. It is small enough to slip into the nappy bag and will add a touch of healthy, sexy colour in seconds.

8.    BB cream
Blur imperfections and add a luminous glow. BB cream (beauty balm) is available in universal shades that suit all skin types and the light coverage means it’s perfect for sensitive skin. Buy one with an SPF so you can cut out the middleman.

My twins are 1 years old and I can tell you I am rushed off my feet most of the time. These tips are fabulous and work. At night when you are really exhausted, its the easiest to reach for a facial wipe. My favourite is the Simple Facial Wipes, they have an exfoliating variant too.
