Top facialsUsing good quality products is a must if you’re looking to improve and maintain the appearance of your skin. However, no matter what your skin type or concern, there’s nothing like a monthly facial to assist in keeping your complexion in tip top shape.

Here, our top five facials to help you achieve the skin you’re after:

Deep cleansing facials
If you have oily, combination or acne-prone skin, this is the facial for you. Deep cleansing facials penetrate deep down into the pores to remove impurities and relieve congestion. When combined with the correct skin care products, it helps tremendously in eliminating and preventing blackheads and whiteheads.
Try Environ Deep Cleanse Facial at R390 for 45 min.

Calming facials
Sensitive skin needs special care, and harsh or potent products should be avoided. This type of facial is usually very gentle on the skin, and provides nourishment without stripping the skin or irritating it. It is also designed to relieve redness and sensitivity.
Try Dermalogica Ultra Calming Skin Treatment at R525 for 60 min.

Hydrating facials
If your skin is dry, dehydrated, sun-damaged or mature, you may want to consider a hydrating facial. It promotes intense hydration, and often uses a combination of antioxidants, proteins and growth factors to achieve the desired results. Skin is left looking healthy and radiant.
Try Skin Medica TNS Hydrating Masque from R590.

Anti-ageing facials
As we age our skin begins to lose elasticity, it sags, fine lines and wrinkles become more apparent and dullness, dryness and sun-damage sets in. Anti-ageing facials that target the signs of ageing, tightens skin, hydrates and makes use of microdermabrasion could be the answer to prolonged beautiful skin.
Try Anti-Ageing Mesoglow Facial at R850 for 60 min.

Brightening facials
Dull, lacklustre skin not only makes you look run down and tired, but it’s also to blame for making us look older than we actually are. A brightening facial restores the skin’s luminosity and vitality while refreshing it and leaving it looking more radiant.
Try ESPA Skin Brightener Facial at R680 for 90 min.

I think that monthly facials are great but so many of us spend our money on good products there is little left over for monthly facials especially at the high salon prices. I aim to do two facials a month at home. You just have to make time for it.

I have been using Dermalogica for years… I have a feeling they are over-hyped about products. My skin is not reacting to their products anymore. I’m going to go for another type of facial, maybe choose the Environ one.

After reading Bun Bun’s HORRIFIC reaction to a facial recently, I am a bit hesitant about them. And they are quite pricey.

I can’t believe how pricey they are. It’s sad. I’d rather do it myself.
