Phytomer’s anti-ageing remedy – review

Thursday, 7 June 2012

Phytomer's White Lumination Complexion Recovery Moisturising CreamWhat they say:
A rich, melt-away cream with a velvety finish that evens the complexion and boosts the skin’s radiance whilst delivering instant moisture for soft and comfortable skin. It also offers SPF 15 protection to limit the risk of brown spots appearing, delivers intense hydration, visibly lights up the skin, and reduces the appearance of dark spots.

What we say:
Since my skin has weathered over the years, any product that offers some kind of remedy is high on my list of must-haves. From the very start I could not fault the fact that the cream melts away and leaves my skin feeling moisturised but not oily.

And then there is the dreaded dark spots, also better known as liver spots. The secret ingredient that lightens these spots is extract of Sea Lily, so I skipped across to the Phytomer site to read up a bit more. This coastal plant grows on the Brittany Islands of Hoedic and Houat and has the exceptional capacity to inhibit melanin synthesis both during the day and at night time. A real radiance booster, scientists at Phytomer use it to correct the appearance of mottled skin which is often linked to ageing or over exposure to the sun.

I am still using the product and I don’t think I’ve seen my mottled skin lightning yet but I do apply the moisturiser in the morning and don’t have to think about moisturising for the rest of the day. I also recently spent an entire day out in the early Cape Town winter. That evening I felt my skin had been out, but by the next morning there was no telling signs of wind or sun.

I like the smell, I like the easy application and I like how it makes my skin feel. This is a winner product in my books.
