Run a blissful bath

Friday, 29 June 2012

Run a blissful bathIt’s one of the first things you learn as a kid, but running a bath can be so much more than a quick dip in the tub. Give the shower a break this weekend and pamper yourself with a blissful bath. Here’s how…

1. While running the water, light a candle or two. A scented candle will not only add a wonderful scent to your bathroom, but it will create a peaceful atmosphere, helping you unwind and relax in the bath.

2. Fill your bath with mineral-rich bath salts. Besides adding to the aroma, bath salts help ease stiff or sore muscles and help to remove toxins from the body.

3. Pop a mask on your hair. You’ve got the time, so why not treat your hair while the warm water, bath salts, and candles do their work?

4. Now, sit back and relax.

5. Once out of the bath, pat yourself dry and indulge in a rich body moisturiser.

I try to do this once a week. I use sunsilk hair masks.. They’re affordable and make your hair feel silky. The only thing missing here is putting on some music!

Ahhh – I barely got any leave over December – January, I did however manage to have one, long bath. Only one though. And it wasn’t anywhere near as awesome as this one sounds. :(

Aaah. I love taking a nice hot bubble bath. I normally put on a face mask and then read in the bath for almost 2 hours. So relaxing, especially when the bathroom smells delicious. :)

I am so used to having a bath with only the light from my candles, that I cannot enjoy one with the light on. I am currently using a soy candle with lemongrass aroma – so relaxing I often fall asleep :-)

This is really a mood setter for a perfect blissful relaxing time-out. Sometimes the best spa is in your own home.

I always end the day with a bubble bath with my daughter. Its our bonding time and sometimes she brings her toys inside. ON Saturday nights, if time permits, I light candles, throw in some Radox bath salts and invite my man to relax with me.

Wish I could manage a bath with candles, some music and bubbly – as soon as my two boys hear the water running, clothes start flying all over the show and the next thing you know you are squashed into a ball at the foot of the bath!

This is what I call quality “ME TIME”! Love treating myself to a relaxing bath, usually take the book that I;m reading at the time with me and catch up on a couple of chapters too.

I agree with Rochelle, a glass of bubbly and a small piece of your favourite chocolate is all that is needed for the above. :)
