What is the best way to get rid of blackheads on my chin and nose?

Getting rid of blackheadsThank you for your question. There are many ways to "skin a cat," so to speak. You have a few options. What it really comes down to, is how quickly do you want to see results, and are you the type of person who wants to spend a lot of money on you skin, and get fast, effective results? You have to resist the urge of pressing out congestion on your skin as we normally are not very careful with our own skins and we end up injuring the skin unnecessarily.

You really have quite a few options here – you can choose the self-treatment option, of getting into the routine of using a clarifying mask on a weekly basis as well as using exfoliating enzymes at least twice a week, and then making sure you’re giving your skin the proper hydration and protection it needs to maintain these results by means of a good, hydrating moisturiser and good facial SPF. You also have the option of doing all that I’ve already mentioned but include a course of treatments to give you much faster results. Treatments could range from a simple course of salicylic acid peels, to a combination of peels and laser therapy (depending on the severity of the problem, and of course how quickly you want the problem resolved). We would be most happy to help you out with a step-by- step plan at any one of our Skin Renewal branches.

I love enzyme exfoliators, and a clarifying mask. Better to prevent than cure!

These seem rather extreme I must admit. I would be more likely to visit the beauty salon and have a facial with extractions done by a pro.

I use the Skin Science enzyme exfoliator, Skin Logic clarifying treatment, and the Skin Logic enzyme exfoliator.

It is essential to use a face mask at least once a week. They really do help.

Thats my biggest problem area, blackheads on my nose. At least its not so easily seen, but if you look closely those blackheads are there. I Have tried all these things expect for the salycylic acid as I have sensitive skin, and nothing works. I’ve read somewhere that once those pores are stretched due to the impurities, who cant shrink them back again, so the impurities will always clog up in those pores.

OMG, there are so many products and methods I have used for my stubborn blackheads. This article is not very helpful. Salicylic acid can be too strong on our skin and cause damage to sensitive skin (like mine). For people with sensitive skin they should use products and peelings with Lactic acid rather…

Oh my gosh. That’s my biggest gripe. My skin is clear and smooth with the exception of horrible blackheads on my nose.

I’m considering peels… I don’t think I’ll have time 4 everything that this article mentions. I’m quite busy and wake up in the early hours of the morning. I need something quick

I am looking for something my son can use. One thing he is very good at: he does not fiddle with his face.

    Hi NaturalDiva

It’s best to use a product that contains 2% or less salicylic acid, as anything stronger could potentially harm your skin. If you find products containing this ingredient too harsh for your skin, perhaps try a natural range containing tea tree (it is known for assisting in combatting breakouts and blemishes).

Very interesting. I am using the skinlogic facemasks at the moment, but I think I’m going to save up for a trip to the dermatologist!
