How can I minimise my blackheads?

Friday, 8 February 2013

How do I get rid of blackheadsWhat should I do about all my blackheads? Using exfoliators makes my sensitive skin worse.

Thank-you so much for this enquiry. You are absolutely correct, scrubbing your skin if you have sensitive skin is really not advisable. I would suggest that you rather consider using exfoliating enzymes so that there is no scratching, scrubbing or irritating the skin. I can highly recommend Lamelle’s Cathepzyme OR Nimue’s exfoliating enzymes. Also, I would really suggest that you have a deep cleansing treatment with a light, superficial chemical peel. There are peels which are suitable for sensitive skins that do not cause pain, and irritation and burning, and they would be suitable for you. From there on it’s really a case of learning to maintain your skin as best you can. You are welcome to visit any one of our Skin Renewal Branches for assistance with this.

My daughter is 15 and has blackheads on the nose area. She is also has pimples. I don’t want to use anything harsh on her skin at this developmental stage. What can i use to just get rid of the blackheads without scaring that will be suitable for her age.

Believe it or not exfoliator is not the solution to blackheads, it only removes dry dead skin cells and give the skin refinement.
For me the magic in having smooth spot free skin is to religiously cleanse (removal of surface dirt and oil), tone (remove excess cleanser after cleansing as well as close the pores to prevent further blockages) & moisturise.
A serum under your moisturiser and good eye cream are excellent skin boosters.

Love the enzymes. Just make sure you dont “over use” them as this also causes sensitive skin to lash out!

I have used Nimue’s exfoliating enzymes. But at what point do blackheads start disappearing?
