What we say:
My immediate reaction when excitedly ripping open the packaging was the bulkiness of the tube but I couldn’t wait to try the Bourjois rotating mascara nonetheless. Operating the rotating brush is simple, although, because I am ambidextrous and apply mascara with both hands, the instructions didn’t work for me. I had to figure out which way to rotate the brush to suit both hands, which was very quick. My eyelash curler and I have a love/hate relationship going back a long way. I’ve finally been able to ditch the curler because the rotating brush curls and makes lashes appear longer at the same time. Best of all, it requires only one coat that lasts all day. In fact, at the end of the day I have had to use a little more eye make-up remover than normal to remove it. I found this annoying, but the benefits far outweigh this tiny inconvenience. Definitely a worthwhile purchase for those of us not blessed with long eyelashes and anyone who wears glasses and wants to add more impact to their eyes (like me). I’ll most definitely be buying the Bourjois rotating mascara in future.

I must say I really liked this mascara, the brushes are soft and you don’t have to keep dipping the brush into the mascara tube. The use of the button is wow, it leaves my lashes long and big and keeps them light. The size of the tube is bigger than my usual mascaras but it’s not heavy. I will use this forever! My friends and colleagues saw the difference the first time I used it, they thought I had put on fake lashes. My bff keeps stealing my mascara as she simply loves it. I don’t leave home without wearing this mascara now, I’m so hooked. It’s so easy and fast to apply. I apply it once in the morning and it lasts the whole day, I don’t have to keep reapplying the mascara. Even after I have removed my make-up with a makeup remover my lashes still looks fuller. This mascara lives up to its name Volume Fast and Perfect in just 30 seconds!

When I first took a look at this mascara I was hooked. I adore products that offer some sort of gimmick – I’m a sucker for that actually. The packaging is simple but still pretty. The tube itself is quite heavy though, so it’s not the easiest thing to carry around in an already full make-up bag.

The rotating wand does also feel a bit heavy and bulky in your hand while you use it, but once you get the hang of the way it works it’s quite fun. I did however feel a bit lazy whilst using it – like I was trying to make an already simple task even simpler. I actually think it takes me longer to coat my lashes with the rotating wand then it does with a normal mascara wand. Also it obviously makes a low humming noise, which could annoy some ladies. I achieved the best results by placing the wand at the base of my lashes, pushing the button to the left and then letting it rotate anti-clockwise while it coated my lashes. It creates a nice curl and gives a pitch-black look to your lashes. But the best part is that it lengthens and separates wonderfully. Overall the effect is quite lovely.

So aside from the gimmick factor this mascara actually does a really good job. The consistency isn’t thick and goopy and doesn’t cause any clumps on my lashes. I actually find that the rotating part gets in the way and kind of ruins an already fabulous mascara. Once this one dries up I don’t think I would repurchase it, but purely cause of its bulkiness. Would I recommend it? Maybe. And the reason would be cause it does give pretty results and some ladies might find the rotating wand to be a godsend, especially if they normally have trouble with putting on mascara.

I was extremely excited to try Bourjois’ new rotating mascara. At first it is a bit difficult to get used to the rotating brush, but the second time was much easier to use. The mascara does give good volume to your lashes, but I did find that if I was not very careful it clumped my lashes, which is not a good effect, and can make it look almost like fake eyelashes, and not the good fake eyelashes. I like my mascara easy to apply, and this mascara can be tricky, Overall, I don’t think this is a very good product. It’s ok, but I am not in love with it – not something I would go and buy. I can only give this a 3 out of 5. It is not bad but it isn’t good either.

The rotating technology works great – clean and smooth with no clumps. The mascara opened my eyes without even using an eyelash curler! I’m very happy with my longer, thicker lashes with only two applications. VOLUME FAST indeed. My office staff loves it!

I am VERY fussy about mascara. On my wedding day the only make-up I wore was mascara and vaseline on my lips. Seriously. So I can do without everything else except mascara.
‘And I want thickness and length. Surprising how many mascaras promise that and then don’t deliver. So I was dubious about Bourjois’ mascara, little motor twirling the brush in BOTH directions not withstanding. Again, as is my wont when I am suspicious of a product’s claims, I tried it on the weekend so if it was not up to scratch I wouldn’t be stuck with it all day at work.

BUT Bourjois’ mascara is the business! It comes in a rather heavy tube (I guess that little motor to twirl the brush has to go somewhere) with an on and off switch, and you can make the brush twirl in both directions at the flick of a switch. Nifty. Actually, not being the most coordinated person I managed to get myself confused as to directions but I soon figured it all out and I am really impressed with the results: thick, full lashes. Well worth it. I shall be wearing it to the office on Monday.
‘And as to the 30-second-flat claim. Hmm. I don’t think so. Although that could just be my lack of coordination. I always was chosen (second) last when they were choosing sides for netball at school…
