What we say:
What a treat this was! The box not only has a snakeskin pattern but feels like it too and as the name suggests, looks EXOTIC. I love the bottle shape, which is easy to grip when opening and the square, fuchsia top is gorgeous. If you like collecting perfume bottles then this will be an addition to your collection. The initial spray is quite fruity, so if you like fruity this is for you. The Eau de Toilette is light enough for daywear and exotic enough for a night on the town. It will not suit everyone but I liked it. I put it on in the morning and I could still smell it throughout the day. I felt that for an Eau de Toilette it had staying power, as I could still smell it by the evening. If you want to feel adventurous then give it a spritz and see what you think. As with all perfumes it is best to first try it before you buy it as what it smells like on a friend, may not be how it smells on you! I was impressed and the fragrance grew on me. I will be wearing it when I want to bring out my latent wild side!
I was super excited to be chosen to try out the Jimmy Choo Exotic Eau de Toilette. The packaging really caught my eye, as it was colourful and nicely presented. Upon opening the box (which as relatively easy to open), the bottle also made me want to try the product, as it was lovely. On the first spray all I could think of was “Potent”! The smell was very overwhelming and too fruity. It made the fragrance come across as cheap and not worth the money paid for it. Thankfully the smell did not last very long (1/2 hour max). After the first spray I did not use it again. My twelve year old on the other hand loved it (her words not mine)! This gets me thinking that it would be more suited for the younger generation (not that I’m old, just mature…) in the category 16-21 years old, perhaps. If you’re into heavy, fruity fragrances go out and grab Jimmy Choo Exotic, otherwise steer clear. I personally do not see myself buying this perfume because it is just too much to handle. This would definitely not appeal to people with allergies…for obvious reasons. My sample has been relegated to my daughter’s closet for her personal use. Thank you once again to Beauty South Africa for the opportunity!
I was fortunate to receive this to review. The packaging was beautiful in a bright cerise pink like snakeskin print. The perfume is in a bright cerise bottle as well. The first spray revealed a strong berry like smell and was very fruity. It reminded me a bit of YSL Baby Doll at first or a quick waft of the smell around the Lush store in Cavendish Square. Then I recalled my childhood memories of the smell of Stopyne syrup! Raspberry, syrupy and a bit like sweets. Well this was a pleasant experience at least. This would certainly be a fragrance for a fun loving playful lady. It could work for all age groups. Although it’s called Exotic, I don’t feel it’s that way at all in terms of being exotic. The big disappointment was after spraying it on, was that it faded within 5 minutes on my skin and I could barely smell it. I liked the fragrance but would not buy it because of its short life span. It also seemed a bit generic and nothing special. I had just sprayed on some more when my son only noticed its smell. He liked it too but thought it smelt a bit generic like a celebrity type fragrance. I would not recommend it because of its short life span but that could have just been my skin type possibly? The smell made me feel a bit happy for a while when it lasted. Perhaps it would work more for an olive skinned type than my pale skin possibly?
