What we say:
Like any girl I love wearing nail polish! I like to paint my nails at least once a week and with it being winter my nails are taking a bit of a beating, so I was excited to try this cuticle treatment from Tip Top. The treatment is supposed to nourish and moisturise your cuticles. You are meant to apply it and allow it to soak in; it is not meant to be washed off.
The oil itself has a nice smell that is pleasant and not overtly strong. It has a light consistency and sinks into your nails right away; making your entire nail feel smooth and really soft.
I liked the fact that it helped me push back my cuticles with ease! Not a big fan of the box it comes in but the bottle was the perfect size and I really liked the brush size. It was perfect and allowed for even coverage of oil over the nail.
I would recommend it to ladies who like me, like to colour their nails weekly, it really does add a nice element to your nail routine and did make my nails feel softer and smoother, with no split ends. I also like the fact that Tip Top is a proudly South African brand!
I do like it and would buy it after I was finished with it – I love using oil on my nails and also my toes to spoil myself!
The Tip Top cuticle oil smells natural, almost nutty, and pleasant. It’s nice and soft as you massage it into your cuticles. I found the packaging rather excessive and think that the bottle should be sold out of the box like nail polish. It was difficult to open the box and it ended up being very damaged. I have never used cuticle oil and found the instructions to be very vague, I couldn’t read the instructions on the bottle itself as they were half rubbed off. The bottle is the same size as an average bottle of nail varnish, surely enough.
I don’t have hard cuticles but must say that rubbing the oil into the area made my hands look and feel more groomed. My cuticle area felt even softer than usual so this oil does work. I would recommend it to people with hard cuticles because if it can make my soft cuticles softer, it will definitely make a difference to hard cuticles. Especially now that winter is coming – hard / dry cuticles loom…
