Question: Dry Skin Care

Good day, I have a problem on my face with dry patches on my skin. I used tons of moisturizers and none seem to work for me. Do you have any advice on this? Thank you!

Answer

Dry patches (even though you’re using moisturisers), indicates a problem with barrier function in the skin. If your skin’s barrier is not functioning properly, it does not matter what you put on, you’re going to feel dry and uncomfortable as you are losing loads of moisture. So my suggestion to you is, make sure you’re using a gentle cleanser that isn’t excessively soapy, and get yourself Lamelle’s Serra restore Cream and use this for about 8 weeks so we can sort out that barrier function. Most importantly, use a good facial SPF every single day over your Serra Restore moisturiser. Once you’ve done this for a period of 8 weeks, your barrier should be well on it’s way to working properly and the dryness should be much less. Then we will be able to look at adding other moisturisers with active ingredients for your skin.
