Question: From Tshehlana Noge

Hi Dr Maureen, I have oily skin and in my 30s. I’m looking for a skincare treatment that will assist with clearing my skin and keep the oiliness at bay as well as serve as an anti aging. It doesn’t have to be in the same jar. I’m currently using Mineraline Time-it products for anti-aging, but it’s not doing anything for the oilyness and the random breakouts. Please could you advice.

Answer

Hello, Thank you for your question. There are a variety of treatments and homecare products available to help with your concern. For homecare I would recommend the Neostrata range. Neostrata products contain a combination of fruit acids, peptides and active vitamins to help with oily skin, textural irregularities as well as ageing.

Light chemical peels, combined with laser therapies such as laser genesis and PDT, will also help reduce breakouts and oiliness and prevent premature ageing by stimulating collagen production in the skin. I would also recommend that you visit one of our clinics so that a therapist can do a complimentary skin analysis for you. Please visit www.skinrenewal.co.za to find the branch closest to you.
