Question: Help! I’m losing my hair

Hi Dr Maureen I'm 24 years old and I've been experiencing hair loss lately. Whenever I run my fingers through my hair, several strands fall out and I notice that my hair is now very thin; it used to be really thick. I noticed my hair becoming very fragile and breaking immediately after using an all-natural shampoo called Dr Organic's Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo, and soon after the hair loss, damaged hair and fly-aways followed. What can I do to revive my damaged hair and help my hair grow? Thank you in advance Kind Regards Wafiqa

Answer

Thank-you so much for your question. I wish I had a very quick and easy answer for you, but the bottom line is that there are quite a number of things that can cause this, and the trick is to pin point what that cause is, and treat that, so that your hair and scalp can start recovering as quickly as possible.

Also realise that the sooner you get treatment, the better! Any of the following things (and more), could be responsible:

– recent dramatic weight loss
– change in hormonal profile
– pregnancy or recent pregnancy
– lack of certain vitamins and minerals
– imbalances of bacteria in the gut
– changes in the diet
– very high stress levels

These are just some of the more common causes. So the best advice I can possibly give you is to come and visit one of our Health Renewal Branches. Come and see one of our Health Renewal Doctors and let them do a full investigation for you, and take it from there. You can locate the nearest branch to you at www.healthrenewal.co.za
