Thank-you so much for your enquiry. What you need is a combination of treatments. Scarring needs slightly deeper treatment than what you’re going to get from microdermabrasion. Peels and microdermabrasion are both great for skin resurfacing, so it really does depend on why you are resurfacing. If you’re doing this predominantly for the clogged pores, then I would highly recommend a salicylic acid peel. If you are resurfacing to try and improve the appearance of the scarring, then you are going to need a deeper peel and there are various options in the case. There are also other options to treat your pores and your scarring, these include laser and even (depending on how bad the scarring is), medical needling. For the very best results I would honestly recommend a combination of these three (peels, needling and laser). How many treatments and how often is really going to depend on how severe the problem is. There are other options we could also consider, but I would highly recommend that you come in to one of our Skin Renewal Branches so that we can take a look at your skin and make the best possible call for YOU. Are you making use of any products at home to help you keep your skin under control and to help mildly resurface at home? It’s really important to maintain your skin at home and to make sure you are using good sun protection on a daily basis.
