How do I successfully do the "smoky eye" effect? I never seem to get it right.

Answer

Hello Leanna

I’ll let you in on a quick and easy tip. Use a nude eye shadow to cover you whole eye lid making sure that you get all the corners covered and that it’s blended in completely. Next apply your darker eye shadow to the top lid, but  make sure that you don’t overlap it too much on the outer corners. You can use a lighter shade of nude to blend it in slightly in the crease of your eye or to soften the colour depending on what you are hoping to achieve. Smudge a bit of the dark eye shadow on to the lower eye lid inbetween your eyelashes and blend it from corner to corner and there you have it! As an extra apply a  liquid eyeliner to the top lid and a eye pencil to the lower lid. If you have one of those eye pencils that has the smudge sponnge at the back, then apply the pencil to the upper lid before the eye shadow to intensify the look. It also helps to fill in the spaces between your lashes so you’ll get a really intense look from just that. Finish it off with loads of mascara
