There haven’t been any reports that I know of that have been life threatening or very dangerous so I won’t consider it to be unsafe. All you need to look out for is that the salon is well ventilated and that the area that they are doing it in is an open space. Bear in mind the many products out there so ask a few salons and do some research until you are happy with your choice.
