I have long and thick hair that tends to split at the ends. What type of brush should I use when heat styling my hair to minimize the friction to my ends?

Answer

Hey there

For equipment that lasts and gives you the protection you need, a professional brush might be your best option. As a stylist I personally spend the needed amount of money all my equipment even if it means sacrificing a new pair of shoes, simply because if it’s a good item it will last and I can offer the best service to my clients. The are a lot of brushes that say lots of things like ceramic heat protection and ionic styling etc., but the bottom line is to check what your regular stylist is using and if the result on your hair is satisfactory then try using the same brand of brush. You might not get the same result of style at home, but if it’s good enough for him or her to use on you then it should be good enough for you to use at home.
