The best way to apply lipstick is to use a lip liner, lipstick and an ear bud.
You line your lips with liner matching it to the lipstick colour you wish to wear
Draw the line following the line of you own lips and avoid going out side of the area. This will help you avoid the bloated look and also it will look much more neater.
Once you’ve done that, fill the lip win with the liner to help keep your lipstick on for longer. The staining of the liner also helps to make the lipstick look more bold.
Fill in your lips with colour from the centre out so that you can avoid any mishaps if you’ve chosen not to use a lip brush.
The best way to look for colour that suits you is to check your skin tone. Cooler tones can go for bright shades of red, pink, coral and purple where warmer more olive tones will need to be on the look out for softer shades of the above mentioned colour. If you are in between fair and darker toned skin, true neutral or nude colours and work your way up from there
