Question: Management And Eradication Of Blackheads/pimples

I always get a breakout on my chin which over the years has caused that area of my face to be dark and blotchy. i have tried everything under the sun, from prescription tablets to over the counter creams that claim to solve the problem, but to no avail. I follow the 3 step routine of cleansing, toning and mosturising and once a week i use a scrub/mask to exfoliate. I've recently heard that I should use a product that contains Retinol and avoid products with alcohol and parabens? Please advise

Answer

Thank you so much for your enquiry. There are a few things you need to be doing to manage this condition. 1) You need to be using a good facial sun protection product every single day to prevent the "blotchiness" and darkening. 2) Yes, a retinol based product is a very good idea to use as a night cream to help you start sorting out some of the exisiting marks and in the long term it will most certainly be a very good preventative product. Staying away from products that are high in drying alcohols is a very good idea. I also want to suggest that you rather use an enzymatic exfoliaror on a weekly basis rather than using scrubs on your particular skin. If you would like assistance on what Retinols and enzymatic products and sun protection to use, I can highly reccommend the following: Skin Ceuticals Retinol 0.5; Lamelle’s Cathepzyme; Heliocare Sun protection. There are other options as well that you can consider, and if you’d like some more options and assistance, then by all means, please contact your nearest Skin Renewal branch and one of our therapists can talk you through all the various things you can consider in terms of these actives.
